Student Pick Up and Drop Off reminder

Bill Schoolcraft, transportation supervisor, would like to remind everyone that students at the MS/HS are to be picked up and dropped off in front of the buildings at the flag pole enterance.  The service drive behind the buildings should be kept clear for busses.  This is an important safety issue for our students.  It puts them in an unsafe environment when vehicles  drive by them as they are being picked up or dropped off.

Turning the Tide

Inland Lakes High School in Indian River, Michigan faculty started an
on going conversation about three years ago. The conversation centers
around three questions.
Question #1: What do we want students to learn?

Question #2: How will we know when they have learned it?

Question #3: What do we do when they are not learning it?

Faculty meets on a regular basis in Professional Learning Communities
asking themselves these three questions. The questions resulted in

Dual Enrollment for qualifying JRs & SRs

Juniors and seniors that receive qualifying scores on either the PSAT, PLAN, ACT, or MME test can dual enroll in college courses. There are specific cutoff scores for each test in the areas of Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies that students must reach in order to dual enroll. Eligible students may take courses for which there are no state endorsements, such as computer science, foreign language, history, political science, or psychology, as long as they have taken all sections of one of the tests mentioned above.
